The colors of our world, bright or muted; the shapes of things both solid and ethereal; light is fading, growing, bright or subdued - as it falls upon us or emanates from within. These are elements that propel me to paint.
If I could paint music and sounds I would - and I may learn that in time.
The tropical areas of Florida are magical, as are the pristine locales of the Pacific Northwest. There is such diversity in these verdant areas, such mystery and bold design in the flora and fauna.
Shorelines - breaking waves, the rocks and sand - also fascinate me. I can watch for hours.
Painting these worlds, trying to capture a trace of spirit, and perhaps adding a pinch of imagination thrills me as a painter.
