The colors of our world, bright or muted; the shapes of things both solid and ethereal; light that is fading, growing, bright or subdued - as it falls upon us or emanates from within. These are elements that propel me to paint. If I could paint music and sounds I would - and I may learn that in time.
The tropical areas of Florida, the pristine locales of the Pacific Northwest, shorelines with their breaking waves, the rocks and sand - these fascinate me. I can observe for hours.
A familiar comfort is turning to the flared fenders and sculpted shapes of 1940s-'60s auto topia. They are muscular and artful forms not unlike the human body.
